Compliance Implementation Services, LLC (“CIS”)
Website Privacy Policy

Introduction and Consent

CIS is committed to protecting any personal information that you provide to us. We have created this privacy policy to give you a clear understanding of how we will treat your personal information. We have a clear policy on collecting personal information through the web site: we collect no personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it. Please note that this policy applies only to our website activities. It has been created to give you a clear understanding and comfort when accessing and using the site. This policy may be revised periodically, so we recommend that you read it any time you visit the site if you have any concerns about the matters that fall within its scope.

By using our site, you consent to the collection and use of information as set forth in this policy. You also acknowledge our right to change this policy, without prior notification.

  1. Our Use of Personal Information. We may collect and store information from you that you voluntarily choose to give us or enter on our website, including, but not limited to, personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, e-mail address, and phone number. Our primary purpose in collecting and processing your personally identifiable information is to provide you with the services you request or to personalize product information and offers to you. We may also use your personally identifiable information to provide you with additional information about our products and services and to send you information on other products and services that may be of interest to you.

We do not sell or trade personally identifiable information gathered from the website to others. However, we may share your personally identifiable information with our affiliates, and with business partners with whom we are actively involved. For example, your personally identifiable information may be shared with (i) contractors we use to support our business, or (ii) sponsors of events if we are presenting at the event, or (iii) businesses that have services that are complementary to ours, in the event that we have deemed that their products or services may be of benefit to you. We may also share your information if we are required to do so by applicable laws, regulations, or court orders. In the event we sell our business, or the portion thereof to which your information relates, we may share the information with the buyer(s).

In addition, since we conduct research on users’ demographics, interests and behaviors based upon information provided to us during use of our website, we may combine your information with information collected from other individuals to produce anonymous, aggregated statistical information. Such aggregated data does not include personally identifiable information. We use this demographic information, such as the job titles of visitors, to improve the content of our site. We may also share this aggregated data with business partners.

Please be aware that web sites that may be linked to ours are not under our control, and are not subject to this policy. We suggest that if you are concerned about these matters that you review any privacy polices of such sites before providing any personally identifiable information.

  2. Security of Information. We are dedicated to the security of your personally identifiable information and we take commercially reasonable precautions to maintain that protection, however, we cannot guarantee that it is completely secure from people who might attempt to evade security measures or intercept transmissions over the Internet.

  3. Cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information that a web site places on an individual computer’s hard drive. Cookies remember certain information that a web site can then use to make communication between the Internet browser on that computer and the web site more efficient. Cookies are standard technology on the Internet, and may or may not be used by the CIS web site. We may use cookies to gather statistical information to better tailor our site to the needs of our customers. Visitors have the option of disabling cookies via their browser preferences.

  4. Web Beacons and Clickstream Data. In order to measure the effectiveness and/or traffic on our site, we may use “pixel tags” (also called “clear GIFs”, web beacons, or web bugs). A pixel tag is a type of web page graphic that often appears to be invisible because it is usually 1 by 1 pixel in size. Pixel tags may be used for things such as tracking the number of users that arrive at our site and their navigation through the site. We may include pixel tags in our e-mail messages that we send (or that are sent on our behalf) in order to determine which e-mail messages were opened and to note whether an e-mail message was acted upon.

Clickstream data reflects the specific web pages on a site that are visited by an individual user, and, importantly, the manner or traffic pattern by which a user moves from one webpage to another. We track such information only within our site. Clickstream data does not contain or reveal any personally identifiable information about the user.

  5. IP Addresses. An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider (IP) whenever you log onto the Internet. Like other Internet Sites, our site may use IP addresses to collect aggregate and anonymous information about the number of visitors and site useage. To guarantee your privacy, your IP address is not linked with personal information about you. We do, however, reserve the right to use IP addresses, along with any other personal information, to identify individuals who threaten our site, services, employees or customers.

  6. Surveys and Contests. From time to time, we may ask for personally identifiable information when you complete a survey or enter a contest. In these circumstances, we will clearly describe the purpose for collecting such information, as well as any intended uses.

  7. Linked Sites. As a resource to our customers, employees and site visitors, we provide links to other web sites. We try to carefully choose those sites that we believe are useful and meet our high standards. However, we do not guarantee the standards of those sites, nor are we responsible for the content of non-CIS sites. Links to other web sites are provided for convenience, and do not constitute an endorsement by CIS of the site, or its sponsor.

  8. Effective Date. This policy is effective as of July 18, 2005
